Our Calling
Instead of hanging out inside a church building, we go into the community, where people live, work, and play, living the love of Jesus Christ, out into their lives. This simple process looks like making new friends or being kind to strangers (friends we haven’t made yet)! The goals are to love others as Christ has loved us, live in community with them, and allow the Holy Spirit of God to introduce them to Christ through our actions. We then invite these new friends to join us at other gatherings and in missional work in their community. The places or settings we’ll live this love out take place in several different “spaces.”

Where We Gather
We gather in real places where life is already happening—not behind church walls. Our Sunday gatherings take place atThe Refuge at Five Stones Artisan Brewery in New Braunfels, where people can come as they are, sit down, and join in.You can expect live music, Scripture, prayer, and a message rooted in the Word of God—along with genuine conversation and community. It may not look like a traditional church setting, but the heart of it is the same: people gathering to worship, to listen, and to walk forward together in Christ.Whether you have been in church all your life or are just beginning to ask questions, you are welcome here.
Life Together
This is where pastoral care and spiritual guidance occurs with 2-4 people meeting together. Prayers, personal conversation, spiritual support, and encouragement make up these meetings. The Holy Spirit of God convicts hearts, and decisions are made to follow Christ in these intimate spaces.

Common Questions
Is this a church?
Yes. We are a Christian community centered on Jesus, Scripture, prayer, worship, discipleship, and everyday life together.
Some parts of what we do may look a little different from a traditional church setting because we believe faith is meant to be lived out beyond church walls. We gather in real places where people already live, work, eat, and spend time together. Our heart is simple: to follow Christ and walk alongside one another in everyday life.
Are you connected to a denomination?
Tejas Missional Communities is an independent, non-denominational Christian community. We are not connected to a specific denomination or governed by a larger church organization. Our focus is on following Jesus, gathering around Scripture, serving people well, and living out our faith in authentic community.
Who leads Tejas Missional Communities?
We have pastors, teachers, worship leaders, and community leaders who serve in a variety of ways throughout the surrounding area. Some help lead gatherings and Bible studies, some provide pastoral care and prayer support, and others serve quietly behind the scenes in everyday ministry and community relationships.
We believe ministry happens both inside gatherings and out in everyday life.
What should I expect at a gathering?
You can expect a relaxed atmosphere with music, prayer, Scripture, conversation, and people who genuinely care about one another. Some gatherings are larger and centered around worship and teaching, while others happen around tables, coffee cups, meals, and conversation.
You do not need to dress up or have everything figured out to join us.
Do you accept tithes and offerings?
Yes. If you choose to give, your support helps us continue gathering, serving people, supporting ministry and worship, caring for practical needs, and partnering with community outreach efforts.
Online giving is available through the Give page, and gifts may also be given in person during gatherings.
Do you have a church building?
Not at this time. While we regularly gather on Sundays at The Refuge at Five Stones Artisan Brewery in New Braunfels, we also meet in a variety of other places throughout the community, including homes, restaurants, and shared gathering spaces.
While our locations may vary, our purpose stays the same: gathering together in the name of Jesus, building authentic community, and living out our faith in everyday life.
