The Second Half of July

Y'all, the second half of July has started off wild. We kicked off our new Discipleship series a couple weeks ago, and then the sky decided to join in with tornado warnings, buckets of rain, and phones blaring alerts at 2am. If you've been checking the forecast more than usual lately, you're not alone. It's been genuinely dangerous in some areas, so please stay safe and keep an eye on the weather. If your yard is still a swamp, you have our sympathy.

One thing that's stuck with us in the series so far: the disciples in the first century weren't all that different from us in the twenty-first. They still had bills to pay, families to take care of, and ordinary daily life to get through, all while trying to figure out what it meant to follow Jesus. Turns out that part hasn't changed much in two thousand years.

So thank you, Jesus, for steady ground when everything else feels a little shaky, and thanks to everyone who's been showing up rain or shine for the series. If you missed the first session, no worries, swing by this Sunday and jump in.
